Men eh?

by frogspawn @ 24/06/2007 - 18:44:02

Well I've had an interesting few days. Not that'll mean much to anyone reading this as they don't know my life up to this point.

I went to the pub on thursday to see all my friends, cos we'd all been at uni and not seen each other for a couple of months. Should have bee a really good evening. Anyway, my ex (James) turns up. This in itself shouldn't have been a problem, we were together 2 years always got on well and split up last october on mutual terms because we couldn't handle the long distance relationship. Anyway we've stayed friends, if a little bit on and off ever since. the problem arose however when he brought his current girlfriend with him. I don't want to be with him and I'm quite happy that he has a girlfriend but it just threw me off course a bit y'know?

But yeh I got over that fine, and I talked to James about friends and the like, and I'm now totally cool with that. Made the final transitioin kind of thing.

Anyway i got home quite late because we went to see my friend afterwards. Then i went online for a bit to talk to my friends and this guy (Daniel) comes online. Well this is a complicated story, but basically we met online but while I'm at uni I live like 15 minutes rom him so we met up. Anyway we get on really well, and we've both recognised we should be together, but it was one of those things that was never gonna happen, cos he had a girlfriend, then bizarrely another one. And all sorts of fun. Anyway our relatiionship got a bit volatile recently ater I sent an overly flirtacious text that his girlfriend got hold of (let me point out now that I am not up for getting with someone in a relationship at all, I'm naturally a flirt, I didn't think it would do any harm), his girlfriend gave him stick and while he found it funny, something between us changed. Anyway I came online, a bit mixed up from the ex thing and guess what he says, 'Me and Kirsty split up' the timing could not have been more well yeh you get the picture. add to that the fact I came home this week and won't be back in Notts til September, so yeh.

Men eh?

Summer work begins

by frogspawn @ 20/06/2007 - 22:54:12

So entry two of this new era. And life is much the same as ever.

I went to work today for the first day of the summer, I work in a children's adventure park thingy, and vey little had changed. I'm begininng to feel old there now, I've been there 3 and a bit years, the people joining now are all 16. Meh. I won't complain though because I do love my job, I get paid for doing so little the vast majority of the time. The people are in general lovely, and there are some fitties. And I do love working

I'd forgotten about the autosave function, I'd given up on this entry because I realised it was boring but no such luck eh?

Can't remember what else I wanted to say so I'll levae this one :)

Beginning of an era

by frogspawn @ 19/06/2007 - 19:41:41

This is not the first time I have started a blog. There are many abandoned attempts across the internet. This I'm hoping will be the irst time I successfully maintain a blog. I wrote a diary between the ages of 15 and 18 but uni life ended that, partly through laziness, partly through lack of time and partly through lack of privacy.

I'm fascinated by blogs however, it seems strange to me that people present their lives on the internet for everyone to read. And yet I feel I too want to do the same. As a history student I sit here and realise that we are encountering the sources of future generations of historians, gone are the letters, journals and diaries. In are the msn chat logs, emails and blogs. I guess it is partly in recognition of this that i want to start my own. Not that I expect my life to amount to anything which a historian eels the need to study.

I guess I should introduce myself, i'm Clare i just turned 19 and I just finished my first year studying history at the University of Nottingham. Home is rural Gloucestershire, with my parents and dear (read annoying) younger brother. I love the mixture I have between town and country, I'm grateful for the country upbringing but my move to the city last year was greatly appreciated.

As well as my love of history, I love films, music, dancing, reading, art, friends, the summer. Your normal student things. I dislike arrogance, happy boring couples WHO TALK ABOUT NOTHING EXCEPT EACH OTHER (thats a fresh one that one), prejudice (although I accept that I too am capable of that), ignorance, conservatives, and many other things. I'd love to be a revolutionary one day, and am love with the idea of communism, even if human natrure doesn't allow it to work.

And yeh that me. I could give you the very superficial details, I'm tall (about 5ft 10), fairly slim, although catered halls have tried to destroy this, have blue eyes and longish brown hair.

Anyway, I'll leave it to that. i'm up for an adventure and meeting new people. To me the journey is as exciting as the destination, whatever that may be.

Exit, stage left

PS. i find it amusing that the icons for editing the text spell FUKD, i guess thats the immaturity in me.
